The simple, powerful, holistic design of Multi-Tenant ADMS solution
- Efficient integration of one or more control centers goes beyond standard inter-control-center communication capabilities that usually exists in standard grid management technologies.
- Many utilities are interested in shared service models with other utilities and some are interested in merging with others. This is one of major future trend in electricity business in liberated energy markets; merging and shared service platforms. The new model will also help is reducing costs, increasing efficiency and managing energy resources for better balance of generation-consumption in the distribution gird.
- ADMS, DERMS and EMS systems are one of major core systems in utility business, to keep the grid balanced, healthy and efficient.
- A main issue for such systems sharing/merging is jurisdiction areas and sharing one platform with arbitrary number of fully separated databases/users like a cloud-based solution. Other required features are separated engineering, operation and grid information maintenance mechanisms in control centers.
- Implementing such a solution would be possible on a private cloud, created by a private data center and share an ADMS/DERMS platform in it. So, they can benefit from sharing HW/SW platform, while they operate their own highly grid, independent from each other.
- Such characteristic need system architecture beyond conventional client/server architecture. The system should support multi-tenancy, to makes such system design possible.
